Work with Tim McDermott
I’ll help your athletes get more confident,
resilient and focused — and enjoy the work.
“I coach mental and peak performance — and I hold your athletes accountable to the goals you and they set for themselves.”
Your players are already working hard on the field, and their coaches give them the tactical side and the sports IQ they need. Where I come in is turning that into an actionable plan off it.
I help them get clear on what they actually want, name the price they’ll have to pay to get there — the habits every elite performer keeps — and then get busy paying it, with confidence, focus and resilience. The result is athletes who get better on the field and reach the goals they set for themselves.
The gap is effort — the effort nobody sees, in the hours nobody is watching. That’s the part I’ll help them bring.
And I’m glad to be an extension of your staff — telling you, their coach, exactly what we’re working on, whenever you want it. None of it is strength and conditioning programming, and none of it touches your practice plan.

The habits on this screen are set by the coach and the athlete — not by me. Where I work with athletes of prospective-student-athlete age, anything I set or see is lifestyle only: sleep, preparation, and what they rehearse to themselves. Never sport-specific work.
Open to any and all. Everything here is available to anyone who wants it — any athlete, any family, any program. Nothing on this page is limited to a particular school, team, roster or recruit.
One rule I coach under: because I’m a current college assistant, with your players who are prospective student-athletes I don’t talk recruiting and I don’t coach sport-specific skills. Only peak performance. That keeps them clean, it keeps you clean, and it keeps me clean.
With your youth teams — the ones not yet at prospective-student-athlete age — that restriction doesn’t apply, and I’m glad to get into the on-field side too.
Season windows
Fall (Aug–Nov) or Spring (Feb–May). Three programs a season.
I’m still coaching in college, so season engagements run in those two windows and I take three programs in each. Keynotes, single team sessions and retreats I can do year-round.
Take a team through the course
I run the peak-performance course with your team across the season — six to eight touchpoints, with you and your staff in the room so it doesn’t leave when I do. Your athletes get the app every day in between, and you get to see who is actually doing the work.
- · Six to eight sessions across the season, built around your calendar
- · The full app for every athlete and coach on the roster
- · A coach dashboard: habits, reflections, course progress
- · Your program’s own content — your videos, your language, your pillars
Priced on roster size and how many touchpoints you want. Invoices and POs are no problem.
Train your coaches to deliver it
The person your athletes see every day is their own coach, which is why this is the version that outlasts me: I work with your staff on the language, the standards, and how to run the daily app with a team without it becoming another thing nobody keeps up. Your coaches deliver it; I keep them sharp.
- · Staff sessions on standards, accountability and the mental side of performance
- · The coach tools across your roster, set up with you
- · Ongoing check-ins with your staff through the season
Bring me in for one date
One session, one talk, one weekend. The cleanest way to find out whether your athletes respond to this before anyone commits to a season.
- · Group and team building
- · Keynote speaking for your club, banquet or coaches’ clinic
- · Team retreats
If none of that fits
Then just take the app.
No coaching, no fee, no catch. I set your program up, show your staff how to run it, and stay out of your way. You get the whole thing free while it’s being built, and I get a program actually using it and telling me what’s wrong. No card, no commitment, stop whenever you like.
“I’ve had the privilege to witness Coach McDermott’s work firsthand. Tim’s commitment to helping the athletes we coached together find their best versions was unmatched.”
“Parents always ask me, ‘What does my son need to do to get recruited?’ My answer is always obvious… he needs to show up to practice each day with more confidence, resilience, and focus.”
Questions I get
Is this NCAA-safe for my prospective student-athletes?
What ages does this work for?
We already have a mental performance coach. Then what?
Does the app cost the program anything?
What happens after the consult?
For compliance review
What is being provided, and by whom
Written for an athletics compliance office. These are the facts of the arrangement — the determination is yours to make, and I’ll change anything that needs changing.
- What is delivered
- Mental and peak performance education: decision-making, preparation routines, habit standards, reflection and goal-setting. Delivered to coaching staff, to teams in group sessions, or to individual athletes, and through a software application.
- What is expressly excluded
- With prospective student-athletes: no sport-specific skill instruction, and no discussion of recruiting or of any institution’s program. In every engagement: no strength, conditioning or nutrition programming; no involvement in practice planning, competition strategy, playing time or personnel decisions; no contact with prospective student-athletes on behalf of the institution. Sport-specific instruction is offered only to youth teams below prospective-student-athlete age.
- Who it is open to
- Every service described here is open to any and all — any athlete, family or program that wants it. Participation is not limited by school, team, roster or recruiting status, and no offering is created for, or restricted to, a particular institution or individual.
- Who pays, and who receives
- Program engagements: the institution or club pays a flat engagement fee. Individual engagements: athletes or their families contract and pay directly, with no institutional funds involved and no institutional obligation. The free option: no money changes hands in either direction.
- How individual work is initiated
- Families approach directly and contract directly. No roster, contact list or athlete data is requested from the program, and the athlete’s coach is told before any individual work begins.
- What athletes receive
- Access to educational content and the application. No cash, equipment, travel, merchandise or other benefit of value is provided to any athlete.
- Data and minors
- Accounts require a minimum age of 13. An athlete’s written reflections are private to them; coaches see participation and progress, never the text. Team messaging is moderated with reporting, blocking and two-adult rules. Full privacy policy at /privacy.
Nothing on this page is a legal or compliance opinion. Tell me what needs to change and I’ll change it before anything is offered to an athlete.
